Question by Kenndy: Differences between Braun Oral-B 7400 and 9400 Toothbrushes?
Anyone know any differences between the two? The only thing that I know is Oral-B 9400 (~$ 55) is newer which I expect to be better and high tech for teeth. On the other hand, Oral-B 7400 is cheaper($ 35) but I think it’s still good. So there is an opportunity cost. What should I pick, any suggestion?

20080629 – After Clint’s oral surgery – 159-5997 – Clint’s very swollen jaw

BACKSTORY: Oral surgery #2! Radicular cyst #2 extracted! This is what happens when you have a shitty root canal, and have to have another root canal on the same tooth ~8 years later.
This surgery one caused me to swell more than the last one, but didn’t hurt for as many days. In fact, 3 days later — when we went to X-Day — I stopped taking painkillers altogether, including iburpofen.
Either way, this surgery was much easier on me than the last one. By the time I got home to do my self-portraits with the last one, I was still bleeding. I wont be going back to that oral surgeon again!
The difference between oral surgeons on Kaiser-Permanente and those on Aetna is like the difference between witch doctors and Stephen Hawking.
ORAL SURGERY HINT: Go to Wendy’s and order 10 large Frosties. These have medical value — the coldness help ease the pain even more than painkillers. Ice is hard to manage, and makes a wet mess. This is like ice, but also solves the "liquid foods only" problem. And your body tends to want more fat when you are healing, right? Multi-use fast food FTW! Wendy’s made me pull in because they couldn’t make those many Frosties at the same time, haha.

Oral candidiasis is a yeast infection of the mucous membranes of the mouth. The most common cause is candida albicans, the same fungus responsible for vaginal yeast infections. Oral candidiasis is also known as oral thrush in babies, and can be identified by a thick white or creamy colored film on the cheeks, gums, or tongue. In adults, this can be a significant cause of pain, discomfort, and burning.
There are many potential causes of oral candidiasis, and occur more in groups with certain risk factors.
There is a great risk of oral thrush in newborn babies, as well as in diabetic patients who have poorly controlled diabetes. Certain medications, most commonly antibiotics and steroids taken for asthma can cause oral candidiasis. People who have AIDS, HIV, or any other disease that weakens the immune system are at an increased risk of oral candidiasis. And finally, the risk of oral candidiasis is increased in smokers and denture users.
The increased risk of oral thrush in newborns is linked to the increased use of antibiotics given to women during labor to prevent strep infections. The newborn has a greatly increased risk of oral thrush, as well as a diaper rash that is often quite difficult to treat.
The treatment for oral candidiasis is similar to the treatment regimens of other fungal infections, and includes anti-fungal medications. Typically, people with a strong immune system require only a swish-and-swallow treatment for the oral form of yeast infection. Those with a compromised immune system may require systemic treatments.

Importance of Oral health
Good Oral hygiene plays an essential role in maintaining healthy teeth and gums. Infact, good Oral hygiene is vital for your entire well-being.

Prevention of Oral Cancer:Maintaining good Oral hygiene prevents Oral cancer and other diseases.

One of the main causes of tooth decay is the accumulation of plaque. The bacteria present in the plaque take in sugar from the food residue in the mouth and inturn, excrete lactic acid. The lactic acid becomes part of the plaque layer. The plaque must be removed or else, the acid can dissolve the tooth’s enamel and inflame the entire gum tissue.
Maintainenance of good Physical Health: According to recent studies, heart attacks and strokes have been associated with gum diseases, resulting from poor oral hygiene.
Prevention of Bad Breath: Bad breath or ‘halitosis’ is the result of poor oral hygiene.
Prevention of oral cavities: One of the main reasons to practice good Oral hygiene is to prevent oral cavities.
Here are a few steps to maintain good oral health::
Do brush and floss your teeth daily.
Do visit your dental professional regularly.
Eat a proper, well-balanced,healthy diet.
Avoid smoking.
If you are pregnant, eat healthy, nourishing food and always try to maintain good oral health.
